We recently returned from a road trip to North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Parkway. A scenic 460 mile drive through Virginia and North Carolina. We spent one night in Staunton Virginia, 2 nights in Boone North Carolina and 3 nights in Asheville North Carolina.
The following images are photos from the first day in Virginia and on the Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park. During our 6 days, we hiked to various waterfalls, rocky trails and saw beautiful scenic views.
Me and my shadow.
White-tailed deer seen on the Limberlost Trail, Shenandoah NP.
A Witch Hazel plant. We were recently told to look for this plant, it blooms in October and November.
A Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
I am not sure of the id of this butterfly?
The following two photos from the Skyline Drive, views of the Appalachian Mountains.
Some pretty colors.
