Finger Lakes, New York

These are images from a road trip we took back in May 2019 to the Finger Lake area of New York.  We hiked to various waterfalls and the Watkins Glen SP, Buttermilk  Falls SP, Montezuma National wildlife refuge, Robert H. Treman SP and the Taughannock SP.

Montour Falls is located right off the road in a town called Montour Falls New York. This waterfall scene was seen in the Hallmark Mystery Movie called Aurora Teagarden. This is the Montour Falls below looking like it is going into the back of the town hall.

Watkins Glen State Park

Buttermilk Falls State Park, a nice moderate hike with lots of wildflowers and a few Orioles and Scarlet Tanagers.

Robert H. Treman State Park, various waterfalls were seen in this park.

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge, some birds seen from our time on the wildlife drive.

Taughannock Falls State Park, the hike to the waterfalls is an easy flat walk.

Hubby and I enjoy our hikes, we try to find new places to visit and hike.  The drive to New York was about 5 1/2 hours. Much of the drive was scenic.  This is a short post, I combines multiple days together in one post. We used a hotel located at the top of the Keuka Lake and took day trips to the all the parks. Thanks for the visit! Have a great day!

  1. Beautiful just beautiful. So were at Watkins Glen State Park. Were you near or at the race track? Love those waterfalls. All those pictures are just beautiful. Bet you had a wonderful time.
